America has
become one of the largest mission fields in
the entire world. Thousands
upon thousands of souls wander the lands of
the United States starving for reasons to live
and
work and begging for more authentic relationships
and tastes of genuine joy. The broken home
offers no such reality. The hire-and-fire workplace
offers no such reality. Most facilities of
higher
education offer no such reality. And sad but
true, many “spiritual” houses of
praise and worship offer nothing that truly
quenches the deep down soul thirst for something
much,
much more. With these realities in mind, the ABLAZE
REVOLUTION boldly
enters the mix.
The ABLAZE REVOLUTION is a movement of God’s
Word and Spirit devoted to transforming Christian
believers into ABLAZE Disciples…disciples
inspired, equipped, and encouraged to set
aflame their sphere of influence with the
soul quenching
realities of Jesus Christ.
All too often, movements of mission in the
name of Jesus Christ become showcases of
mediocrity. Pass out a tract to a stranger
here. Knock
on
a door and share a few fleeting words with
a stranger there. Praise be to God that
His Word
is powerful enough to overcome such obstacles…but
please don’t be fooled, God does
call His people to a higher level of purposed
discipleship.
The ABLAZE REVOLUTION exists
to promote and encourage a re-energized life
of discipleship. Being a disciple
of Jesus Christ means a new way of life,
and as God’s Word explains, that new
way of
life
takes constant training, encouragement,
and inspiration.
By the power of God’s Living Spirit,
disciples of Jesus Christ daily die to
their fallen and
selfish natures and increasingly become
ordained and anointed vehicles of God’s
Love and Truth. An Ablaze Disciple of
Jesus Christ becomes
an anointed missionary, zealous to see
souls connected to their Savior Christ,
and ABLAZE
to build authentic and caring relationships
with the precious human beings all around
them (in
their “sphere of influence” we
call it). As God’s Word teaches
us, it’s within
that context of authentic
and caring relationships that
seeds of the Gospel are given the best
chance
to take root, grow, and buy souls back
from despair and eventual destruction.
The ABLAZE REVOLUTION is
a movement of mission that embraces the Great
Commission
from the
inside out (we take existing Christian
believers
and watch God’s Word and Spirit transform
them into ABLAZE Disciples). Think about it…Jesus
took 12 simple and sinful lives and by means
of His Word and Spirit, He used them to bring
joy, purpose, and salvation to the very ends
of the earth! The ABLAZE
REVOLUTION takes the
same exact approach…Ignite the existing
followers of Jesus Christ to embrace the Spirit’s
calling to make them Infuego (“on fire”),
bold, passionate, and articulate communicators
of the only truth that fills and saves!
By the amazing grace of God….believers
in Jesus Christ do find full forgiveness
and eternal life in their Savior. And in
the context
of such amazing love, our Lord begs
for a response of discipleship. Perhaps Jude
20-23 puts it best, “But
you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your
most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.
Keep yourselves in God’s love
as you wait for the mercy of our Lord
Jesus Christ
to bring
you to eternal life. Be merciful to
those who doubt, and SNATCH OTHERS
FROM THE FIRE AND
SAVE THEM.”
The ABLAZE REVOLUTION embraces
this calling from our awesome God. It’s
time to get off of our hands, off of our
couches, pull ourselves away from our
computer screens and get busy being
disciples. Wonderfully, Jesus Christ, His
Love and His
Forgiveness are the same yesterday,
today, and forever. And
yet you, as God desires, will never
be the same again!
