Ablaze U
Schedule: Currently on Break.
What if it were possible
to create an atmosphere with
university-like
aspects where higher education could
take place in a safe environment that fostered
purposed
development in life, all in the name
of
our Savior Jesus? Sound good? What if this
higher learning
could take place in a way that didn’t
create boredom-induced REM SLEEP. Sound
better? What
if it took place in a casual and comfortable
environment that also provided an opportunity
for you to meet new people? Sound even
better? What if on top of all of these
things it
was completely free of charge? Sound
unbelievable? Well, believe it! The Ablaze
University
doors are now open for people just like
you.
Centuries ago, Dr. Martin Luther made a statement
that is still true today, “Truth
is the most intolerable thing on Earth.” While
the world around us encourages us to
believe things like “all truth is relative (and
please ignore the fact that this statement is
self-contradictory),” the teachings of
Christ tell us a different story. Not surprisingly,
researchers are discovering what Christians have
known for centuries; people who follow Biblical
principles are much better off than those who
follow trendy alternatives such as “follow
your own heart,” “create your own
truth,” “be true to yourself” and “open-mindedness
is the most important thing in life.” As
the Christian philosopher G. K. Chesterton wrote, “The
object of opening the mind as of opening
the mouth is to close it again on something
solid.”
Unfortunately, many in the church have
not escaped the influence of the world.
Although
polls suggest
between 60-70% of Americans profess to
be Christians, research also indicates
that
less than 10%
of Americans actually have a Biblical
worldview that guides their thinking
and actions
in every day life (Barna 2004). This
suggests that many
people still make the mistake of following
their
own opinion rather than yielding to God’s
teachings or they simply struggle to
find the answers to questions like:
 |
How is the Bible
relevant to the issues I’m faced
with in my life?
How do I actually apply Biblical principles in my life walk today? |
The AblazeU was created, in part, to help people
of all ages learn how to think and act more like
Jesus. Come join us for a fun-filled, dynamic
learning opportunity that combines both lecture
and small group discussion components in a relaxed
coffee-house atmosphere that’s not intimidating
in the least. If you’re looking for either
a dry, expressionless, monotone-led class that
doesn’t address relevant issues or a shallow,
fluffy class that doesn’t challenge you
to learn, this one might not be for you. However,
if you love life, learning, laughter and our
Lord, the AblazeU is for you, your friends, neighbors,
classmates and co-workers as we strive to Let
Christ Make Sense…to
the ends of the Earth.
